Sympathy and funeral flowers
Sympathy flowers
Flowers can express so much more than words at such a difficult time.
Taking the time to send flowers to the bereaved family is a way of showing
your care without intruding into their home when things can often be very
difficult. Hand-tied designs and arrangements are often the most popular
choice as the recipient doesn’t need to
worry about arranging them themselves or finding a vase.
White lilys are the traditional choice, and are very classy. Other people
prefer to
send bright and cheerful colours, such as lemons, yellow and oranges.
Whatever you choose, when you send flowers they can carry a personal message
of sympathy and often have more meaning than the sender can realise, letting
the recipient know you are thinking about them.
Funeral flowers
These are usually sent to the undertakers on the morning of the funeral
and are a
last gift to a loved one or special friend. They can really brighten up a very
serious and sad occasion. Often, the funeral flowers chosen are the favourites
of the deceased or in colours they liked. Special tributes can be created for
close family members, such as large coffin sprays, personalised tributes, such
as “mum” or “dad” or names.
Hearts, cushions, wreaths can all be created and each tribute can have
a personal
message to the family or the deceased person. Tributes are often
left after the funeral or can be taken to local care homes, hospices etc
for the residents to enjoy. With this in mind, it can change the style
of tribute, keeping to more of a posy style, arrangement or tied sheaf
which would be very suitable.
